On rainy days, there is nothing better than craft-time. Crafts are productive projects that allow children to pass the time creatively while creating something that can be given as a gift. And often times, the parents can join right in on the fun. Even many recreational programs and summer camps include craft time to help boys and girls exercise the artistic side of their brains-sadly, in the age of television, not a lot of time is dedicated to artistic endeavors. A good example of this type of person is your mailman, your garbage men or a coworker who just started with your company; something to that effect. For these people on your list, a Christmas gift basket is a great way to show you care without having to spend a lot of money. However, these unique designs will cost you more than purchasing mutli-packs of them. For ten dollars, you could either get a single Christmas ball ornament featuring wild designs or a pack of twenty ornaments in solid colors (not to mention that the twenty pack will probably contain smaller ball ornaments). It's generally wise to pick up a variety of both types. The older types of Christmas ball ornaments will come in enough volume to fill up your tree, but unique versions will help to give your tree vibrance. These are usually sold pre-cut, and children can paint them with acrylic paint and even write their names and the date they painted them. Still others are balls that can be designed with glitter and other pieces of material and string that can easily be glued on, although adults will want to help if a heated glue gun is used. No other Christmas decoration will ever pick up the nostalgic value of a baby first Christmas ornament, making it worth far more than just the money it cost to purchase all those years ago, and when your child leaves to start their own life, you can send it with him as a fond parting gift. These ornaments are some of the most challenging, but some of the most rewarding Christmas ornaments to make because nothing is pre-designed. Instead, the entire creative process is orchestrated by the children, and they create from a few raw materials something magical and something real that can be remembered every year at Christmas time.
