Italy is a country that is both very religous and old world. It is a country full of religous history that goes back as far as ancient times. The capital city of Italy is Rome, which boasts many structures from medieval times. Many of the world's best designers, chefs, wineries and artists reside in this country. Not forgetting also that the cuisine of Italy is unlike anywhere else throughout the world.

It is a country that is considered to be the sacred land. More Roman Catholics visit Italy than anywhere else in the world. From the earliest ancient times, when Caesar ruled, and the coliseum was used to punish and kill Christians, Italy was the most feared country in the world. However, today, Italy is a well-developed and evolved country with many attractions to offer the world. Taking a vacation in Italy is a dream for many Americans with who are of Roman Catholic origin.

If you are visiting Rome on vacation, you will find that it is one of the busiest and most popular cities in all of Italy. Rome is considered to be the holy city because the Pope and the Roman Catholic religion lives here. Millions of people visit Rome throughout the year to hear the pope giving mass. This city also boasts ancient buildings and structures, such as the coliseum and monuments, as well as churches and palaces from medieval times.

Rome contains some of the world's most incredible architecture everywhere you look. Rome also offers some of the finest museums in the world. Filled with ancient and modern art and artifacts, the museums of Rome have the finest displays in the world.

Venice is a city recognised for it's romance and love. It has old world charm in a modern age, somewhere to escape and rekindle your love and passion for each other. Venice is chosen as the perfect honeymoon destination by so many people because it is filled with love and romance. This city is built on the water which does not give it much room for growth. This just adds extra charm to this old world city, keeping everything as it was centuries ago. One experience that has to be done if you are visiting Venice is a ride on the Gondola. These boats are incredible, they glide through the water so gracefully making you feel very regal.

Tourists flock in their millions to visit Venice. This city is actually built on a Lagoon and floats on the water. Venice is a well recognised city which has appeared in numerous movies and television programs. There are plenty of tourist attractions to visit whilst staying in Venice, but make sure that you take a tour of the sidewalk cafes and expereince some of the most delicious food and wines that are on offer.

The Tuscany region of Italy is known for its incredibly beautiful countryside, fine wines and exquisite cuisine. Every year, hundreds of thousands of tourists travel the roads of Tuscany to the city of Florence. Here tourists are able to view incredible works of art that were created in the renaissance era.

Pisa, of course, is another city in the Tuscany region that tourists flock to in their thousands. It is, of course, in Pisa that the leaning tower stands, which is an absolute viewing must, with it being so unique. And if you are brave enough then you can also climb the tower and take in the breathtaking views from the bell tower. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is on the same �must see scale� as the Statue of Liberty or the Pyramids for example. Pisa also offers many different shops and boutiques where tourists can find unusual and unique gifts to purchase to take home either for themselves or for a souvenir for the envious friend or relative. There are many different varieties of restaurants in Pisa, these consist of street vendors, sidewalk cafes and five star restaurants. However, the cuisine in all of these establishments is incredible.
