Get Rid Of Acne - Is Stress The Cause Of Your Pimples?

By: Phyllise Phelps

Acne is a complicated problem to deal with and to solve and there is no definite answer as to why it occurs. Finding an effective acne treatment can be difficult since there is no clear understanding as to why it occurs. Stress reduction strategies may be beneficial for those that struggle with acne. Many researchers believe that stress may have an effect on causing and making acne worse.

Here are a few methods you can use to reduce stress:

Method 1: Start An Exercise Program

Exercises such as aerobics or weight training can be very effective at reducing stress from your life not to mention improve your physical health too. Consider doing aerobics 3 to 5 times a week for 30 to 60 minutes each time. There are many inexpensive aerobic exercise equipment you can purchase like stair climbers or exercise bikes that can work well.

You can also go for a walk outside for an hour or so if the weather permits. If you have a little more money then a recumbent exercise bike may work well for you as they are very comfortable to use. Joining a local gym may be a great idea too as they have a wide variety of equipments to keep you from getting bored, take a friend if you can and try to have fun. Also make sure to throw in some weight training sessions once every week or two.

Method 2: Learn How To Do Meditation Or Yoga

Meditation can have many positive effects for those that do it regularly including less stress and a greater feeling of well being. What is meditation? The simplest definition could be that it is the quest to attain a quiet state of mind. While performing meditation the primary objective is to produce a silent mind that has as few thoughts as possible.

When you reach that quiet state of mind you will perhaps now also be at the least stressful and most relaxing state of mind too. One way to do meditation is to focus on your breathing. The way to do this exercise is to simply put your mental focus on your breath and only focus on that as you breathe in and then out. If you find other external thoughts entering your mind then gently return your mental focus back on the breath. The more you do this the easier it will get so keep at it.

There are many other different variations and forms of meditation and it can be a good idea to look into those for further benefits but this simple exercise of focusing on the breath can be useful in reducing stress and ultimately helping to reduce your acne. You can do this exercise for 3 to 5 minutes at a time whenever you feel like you need to relieve some tension.

Method 3: Get A Pet

Raising a pet can be a great way to combat stress. Much research has been done showing the stress reduction benefits of owning a pet. A dog is often the best choice since they seem to always be happy to see you and this naturally makes you feel happier too which of course helps to melt away a lot of stress.

Method 4: Laugh More Often

Make sure you are laughing regularly throughout the day. Read funny books or watch a lot of your favorite comedy shows. Laughter can be a great way to reduce stress and give you other significant health benefits too so do not lose your sense of humor. Get rid of as much stress from your life as you can in order to help you reduce the amount of acne you have.
