You just have to find the right way to quit.

For almost all smokers cravings and withdrawals are a nightmare. Often they are so strong, many don't want to even attempt to quit. You know how you feel when you have a craving, maybe you feel jittery or nervous. Others feel physically ill while going through withdrawals or cravings. Some people feel a craving during everyday situations such as driving, talking on the phone or after a meal. Your brain has learned this trigger through behavior, and associates it with smoking.

There are also emotional connections to smoking for many smokers. Often people start smoking because of stress, depression, or maybe they associate smoking with happy memory or have a cigarette as a reward. These emotional connections need to be dealt with in order to accomplish your goal.

Being unsuccessful in your attempts can break down your self confidence and make it much harder for you to reach your goal. It takes the average smoker nine times before they are successful in quitting. By trying and not being successful multiple times your brain has learned another behavior, failure. Quitting does not have to take you nine times. If you successfully discover your triggers and emotional connections to smoking while building your self confidence, you will complete your goal easily.

The average cigarette takes ten minutes to smoke, think of how many extra minutes you could have in the day for other things like exercise or other hobbies.
