    Fatty liver is a reversible condition seen in chronic alcoholism and other conditions, where large vacuoles of lipid accumulate in hepatocytes that are liver cells. Accumulation of this fat in liver cells causes the liver to enlarge. The lipid within the vacuoles is a particular type known as triglyceride. Triglyceride molecules consist of a glycerol backbone along with three fatty acid molecules joined on it.

The symptoms of alcoholic hepatitis include vague abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, weight loss, fever, diarrhea, fatigue and malaise. Alcoholic liver disease is the most common liver disease in the United States also it is encountered most commonly and results in between 20,000 and 40,000 deaths per year. It is the fourth leading cause of death among Americans.
